ÖLAND ROOTS 2025
From July 9–12, the Dance Pavilion will once again light up in the colors of reggae and welcome back all the fantastic participants who contribute every year to creating the cozy, intimate, and utterly enchanting Öland Roots. Love and laughter from all corners of Sweden flock to take part in the community that has thrived under the pines of Sandbergen for more than 20 years (!!!).
So, what can we expect at the festival in 2025? One of the goals of the "Reboots" pause year was to strengthen the non-profit association’s dwindling funds. Although the event was incredibly successful and exciting, the financial situation didn’t change one bit. Despite this, the association has decided to step up, more secure than ever, with hope for the future, and is focusing on a festival that the regular visitor will recognize: live music, workshops, cultural activities, food trucks, a market, art, and, of course, dancing – there’s something for both young and old! Highlights from Reboots mixed with the eagerly awaited Öland Roots:
• THE MAIN STAGE is back with international bands and sought-after Swedish artists!
• THE BEACH STAGE rises again from the Kalmar shoal with dawn dances at the water’s edge.
• THE OPEN STAGE, which premiered and succeeded at Reboots, will continue to rock at the campsite.
• THE KIDS' CAMPSITE reopens for the youngest festival-goers and their families!
Unfortunately, the van campsite will be removed to make room for the kids' campsite and more tents at the main campsite. Everyone will have a place when Öland Roots grows again!
The festivities begin already on Wednesday at the campsite, where visitors will spend four nights in the embrace of the pine forest. On Thursday, the stage area opens, a day full of activities and surprises from the dance pavilion stage to honor the 99-year-old dance pavilion. Friday and Saturday will then be two full festival days with live performances in the stage area from lunch until the early hours of the morning. We’ll see you at Sweden’s coziest festival from July 9–12!
Opening Hours
The campsite opens at 18:00 on Wednesday, July 9, and closes at 14:00 on Sunday, July 13.
The stage area opening hours are:
